Chris Barnes
Senior Financial Advisor
With over 22 years of experience in the financial services industry, I recently joined Marshall Financial Group in search of a firm that truly aligns with my values and approach to financial planning. What drew me to MFG is their deep commitment to understanding each client’s unique needs and building personalized plans to help them achieve their goals.
I didn’t exactly choose this career, it chose me. I’ve always been drawn to people who help others, and this profession has given me a meaningful way to do just that while solving complex problems. It’s a cool gig, and it still inspires me every day.
One of the most rewarding parts of my job is being part of each client’s journey. No two situations are the same, and life is constantly evolving. That’s why I take the time to truly understand what matters most to my clients and help them navigate life’s financial twists and turns.
Over the years I have learned that clients have many concerns, such as inflation, healthcare, and investment strategy, but the most common concern is having enough money during their retirement years. This is why we recommend each client have a financial plan. It may take a few conversations to break things down and really understand the clients’ goals, but having a plan will help us address those concerns.
What I love most about working at MFG is collaboration and teamwork. Everyone’s ideas are valued, and the shared commitment to client success makes it a great place to be.
Biggest tip for clients: Have a plan—and make a bucket list of things you want to do in retirement. Be bold. Whether it’s travel, buying a car, visiting family, going back to school, or exploring national parks—dream big! You may only get one shot!
Outside the Office
When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my family, cheering at a sporting event, attending a school function or enjoying a local brewery. My perfect day? A beach day getaway during the summer months—sunshine, waves, and time to recharge.
Fun fact: I grew up in a small town in Central Pennsylvania. I had a magical childhood filled with imagination, adventure, and zero screens—no cable, no cell phones, no AC.
What inspires me: Anyone who is genuinely passionate about helping others.
